ATK Mohun Bagan Eye Final Place in ISL

ATK Mohun Bagan set their sights on the final place as they played against Hyderabad FC in the first-leg of the ISL IX semi-final on Thursday. The team is confident of qualifying for the final on March 18 in Goa, thanks to their impressive record of three consecutive victories against Kerala Blasters, Derby win, and playoff triumph over Odisha FC. Coach Juan Ferrando spoke about the potential final opponents, stating that both Bengaluru FC and Mumbai City have an excellent squad, but Mumbai has had a fantastic season.

Unfortunately, ATK Mohun Bagan will be missing Ashique Kuruniyan, who suffered an ankle injury in the early stages of the match against Odisha FC. He flew to Mumbai to have some sessions with a physiotherapist to determine if he could be made fit for the final if the team qualifies. Ferrando also spoke about the controversial playoff tie between Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters last week, expressing his disappointment with the situation. ATK Mohun Bagan goalkeeper Vishal Kaith has already secured the Golden Glove trophy with the most number of clean sheets, but he was injured against Odisha FC last week. The team will have to rely on their backup goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya for the upcoming matches.
